The University of Manchester has announced that the University of Manchester – GREAT 2022 Scholarships is open to international students in academics who wish to enroll in degree programs at the University of Manchester. The GREAT scholarships are jointly funded by The University of Manchester with the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council.
The scholarship is offering £10,000 towards tuition fees for one-year master’s programmes in specific subject areas to students from India and Nigeria, who will enrol in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Eligibility Criteria for Award of British Council GREAT Scholarship 2022
To be eligible for UK Government GREAT Scholarships for International Students, applicants are expected to meet the following conditions:
- Scholarships can only be awarded to offer holders who are passport holders of India and Nigeria
- If a course/programme lasts longer than one year, the scholarships will be offered for the first year of study only;
- Scholarships can only be awarded to applicants who studied in India and Nigeria at all levels (school/college/ university) with the exception of students who completed their bachelor’s at The University of Manchester;
- Scholarships will be offered at postgraduate taught (Master’s) level only;
- Scholarships will be offered for the study of full-time, on-campus postgraduate taught (Master’s) courses only;
- Scholarships can only be awarded to applicants who are classified by the University as an international tuition fee payer;
- As a condition of the award of a scholarship, recipients are required to take part in student ambassador and/or mentoring schemes;
- Scholarships are only available for September 2022 entry (a scholarship award may not be deferred);
- Applicants for scholarships are required to submit a completed application form by 1 June 2022. The application form will be emailed to eligible offer holders by the International Office;
- Scholarships can only be awarded to applicants who are offer holders on 1 June 2022 countries)

GREAT 2022 Scholarships Application Procedures
Applicants must complete a GREAT scholarship application form by 1 June 2022. This will be emailed to all relevant offer-holders by the International Office (mailto:international@manchester.ac.uk).
Successful applicants will be notified by 17 June 2022.
